Vocational Qualifications
National Vocational Qualifications (NVQ’s for short) are simply accreditations awarded partly for your knowledge and understanding of a topic and also on your actual abilities, which are assessed through observation of you at work and a portfolio with examples produced by you at work. Your performance is measured against pre-set national occupational standards for whatever qualification you are taking and you will either have reached the standard or will continue to be supported until you fully meet the standard. It’s a great way of benchmarking your skills and helping to fill any gaps. Our programmes are a blend of classroom training and workplace assessment. Your assessor is a “critical friend” who works with you throughout the programme to identify areas where you need to develop further and support you in doing so; plus help you put your portfolio together.
All vocational programmes are now unitised and modular. Each unit you pass is awarded points. The points you need to gain a level 2 qualification can also count towards the next level up, so you can keep building for the future. You can take qualifications from level 1 to the highest level 7. We offer the following programmes – just follow the links to learn more:
NVQ in Business Administration
"Skills Team delivered a training programme that was tightly focused on work-based skills. The programme enhanced our organization by developing our team’s IT proficiency. The trainers were particularly supportive and helpful, and the emphasis on skills for work meant that our investment was rewarded in improved morale and productivity."
