Apprenticeships
There has been a lot of talk about apprenticeships and they are a key part of the Government’s plans for workforce development over the next 4 years. But what are they and what do they involve? More importantly – would they be right for you?
You can undertake an apprenticeship in most job disciplines now as most industries have agreed the blend of skills or Apprenticeship Framework that is required to qualify people to work in their sector. Some are very sector specific like an Apprenticeship in Child Care and Early Years Development whilst others cover skills more generally applied across many industries like IT or Management.
Apprenticeships can be taken at different levels although most are either at level 2 – a good entry level for the workforce or level 3 – for people in roles with a little more responsibility, perhaps for a small team of people or one area of operation.
You have to study and gain certification on four different elements to complete your apprenticeship. These elements cover your skills in work, your underpinning knowledge and understanding, your functional skills and your knowledge of rights and responsibilities in work.
We provide all the necessary advice and guidance, training, assessment, testing, documentation and mentoring to help you through the whole process.
We currently offer the following apprenticeships.

Apprenticeship in Team Leading
"I improved my IT skills massively. The thing that helped the most was the CV and interview preparation. It’s like I had all the skills but the Skills Team have been able to get the best out of me, and help me to use the skills I have in the right way.
The programme enabled me to get an exciting job handling social media at an internet commerce company."
