- work safely. Avoid thoughtless actions which may harm yourself or others. If you see hazards report them to staff members as soon as possible
- communicate with us if you have problems, particularly if you will be late or likely to miss any pre-booked session
- smoking is permitted only in agreed locations outside the training centres
- respect others on your programme and all those with whom you are in contact.
Anti-bullying
Skills Team is committed to creating and maintaining a working and learning environment that is safe, secure and free from any form of bullying for all individuals. Where bullying or harassment does occur, individuals should feel supported in reporting incidents and clear about the steps they should take.

Exclusion
High standards of behaviour are important in helping candidates to feel safe and learn well, and candidates, parents or carers play a key part in this.
At Skills Team we promote positive behaviour, helping to build self-discipline and encouraging respect for others. But we also need sanctions to deter candidates from misbehaving.
Skills Team has a legal right to impose reasonable sanctions if a candidate misbehaves.
Sanctions Skills Team might use include:
- a formal reprimand
- a letter to parents or carers (for candidates under 18 years of age)
- removal from a workshop
- loss of privileges
- confiscating something belonging to the candidate if it’s inappropriate for learning (for example, a mobile phone or music player)
A candidate who gets into serious trouble at Skills Team can be excluded permanently from their programme. Skills Team will inform parents or carers of any candidate under the age of 18 on the day exclusion is given and follow up with a letter including information on the reason for exclusion.
